Y estoy de acuerdo también sobre la importancia de la calle, del &quot;campo&quot;, en el direccionamento de la vida intelectual. Me interesa muchísimo la teoria, ya que sin pensar y reflexionar, sin síntesis, no hay ciencia. Pero las experiencias que uno adquiere en la calle, en el campo influyen de tantas maneras en la vida de un investigador... El contacto con la calle hace más dificil la construcción de pseudorealidades basadas en abstracciones o ideologías (p.ej. la &quot;industria del rescate&quot;).</description>

		<description>I didn&#039;t know you had done &quot;educação popular&quot; &lt;i&gt;à la&lt;/i&gt; Paulo Freire. Indirectly I have, too (I was involved with education projects for certain indigenous communities in the Amazon), so I had already encountered some of the work of Paulo Freire, a Brazilian like me. Despite his stress on urban populations, his ideas have a much wider range of application.

Knowing that you were involved in all these activities before entering Academia actually increases my level of respect for you. It&#039;s good to know.</description>
